Now 219.x is a Good IP and 60.x is Fucked Up IP

This is an update to the TM-Net Streamyx IP – 219.x, 218.x and 60.x post that I wrote a year ago.

Last few weeks, I have been enjoying incredible fast connection of internet on my 219.x IP. Surprise? Usually, I will have to connect to 218.x to get a decent connection like this. But last few weeks is totally different, my 219.x can connect as good as 218.x.

I am like living in heaven.

But what is funny is that while I am surfing in heaven, suddenly soufulow complains a lot about his poor streamyx connection. He has download that is less than 10KB/s for certain sites. I have no idea why. He is shouting EXACTLY the way I am shouting for years in my blog.

Also, at the very same time, MORE people actually complaint about slower speed in my blog comments and also other forums. Suddenly more people are searching for ’streamyx sucks’. It is like, suddenly I live in heaven and all other people live in hell.

Then, one day I got a very bad speed (back to hell). I look at the IP and I got a 60.x!

IP numbers are sticky to area and in my area, I will get 90% of 219.x and 9% of 218.x and 1% of 60.x. I have gotten 60.x for less than 10 times in the last 5 years using Streamyx. And everytime I got a 60.x, I will get incredible speed and I will refuse to turn off my router and let it hook up for weeks so I won’t lose the connection.

While looking at the IP of people who wrote a comment in my blog and also soufulow’s IP, they usually get the 60.x as opposed to the 219.x. [There are a lot more people on 60.x then on 219.x]

I quickly do a disconnection and reconnect with a 219.x. Boom! My internet connection is blasting fast again.

My conclusion is that 219.x suddenly become a blessed IP and 60.x is now cursed!

My think it is related to the 10Gbps upgrade by Tmnet. And there are 2 possible scenarios.

Scenario #1

The 10 Gbps link is added to 219.x so 219 is very fast now. But that didn’t explain why 60.x deteriorate.

Scenario #2

The 10 Gbps link is added to 60.x and Tmnet allows more people to hook up to 60.x after the upgrade. But unfortunately, it end up that the new 10 Gbps link are not able to support the amount of new users being transfer to 60.x and making 60.x even more congested. While those remain in 219.x like me enjoy decent connection speed due to less congestion.

I am just guessing… But it is very true that suddenly more people are getting pissed off by streamyx.

(Off topic) AhYap and soufulow, sorry ah… May I know what is your torrents download speed? 200kb/s? 100kb/s? Or just 0.5kb/s (min) – 10kb/s (max)? Hehehe… I am so “fortunate” to live in Malaysia, using a SHIT line, but I found another way… I mean, I found a SHIT cleaner or useful toilet bowl (or something like that). (HINT)

but most of the time I check, I am connected to 60.xx. I even try to disconnect for many times and try to establish connections but cannot get to 219 or 218.xx

I got 124.xx.x.xxx ip. sometimes I got 60.xx.x.xx ip too.
but if i check my router management log, it shown as below:

local IP address 124.xx.xxx.xx
remote IP address 219.xx.xxx.xxx
primary DNS address 202.188.0.133
secondary DNS address 202.188.1.5
PPPoE Connect with IP Address 124.xx.xxx.xx
PPPoE Connection Successfully Established
PPPoE Connect with Gateway IP Address: 219.xx.xxx.xxx

so, which one do u mean actually? I am blur that if i get 124.xx.x.xxx or 219.xx.x.xxx….
but I check with WhatIsMyIP.com and it shown 124.xx.xx.xxx

@Xion, it is 124.x. This is a new IP range. So far not much feedback available about 124.x. I never get it even once.

im running under 60.x.xxx ip
yesterday on august.20th i got extremely fast torrent speed (>70kb/s) ,, im so happy for that exact day and i did’t restart my connection ….
but today 21th i got idiotic speed running less than 8kb/s … er.. . pathetic streamyx when are you gonna fix this crap.
i can’t tolerate this crap i want to change other ISP … any reccomends
here ??

hey, did u guys notice that internet is slower on Firefox compare to IE when using tmnet streamyx? especially when u r accessing secure ‘https’ website. I think this something to do with the bandwidth shapper they are using… damn streamyx!!

i normally got 60.x c/w DL speed 30-70KB/s.

suddenly today i’d connected with 218.x and it SUCKS!!with 0.1KB/s DL speed and hang up like a sohai for 10min.

but after i’d try (try n try n try..x100) i finally got 60.x but stil SUCKS!!! with 10KB/s = 80kbps.

i never got 219.x..hopes its heaven.

when i check my ip address at WhatIsMyIP.com ~~

well in fact my ip address is 281.111.62.43 ~~

and i go to my router configuration and double check what is my ip address ~~~

and it display

IP Address 218.111.62.43
Default Gateway 219.93.218.177

so now i wonder which 1 of it are the reall address for tm ???

is the gateway or the ip address ????

i also call tm-nut complaint and complaint and Fcuking complaint again. they finally send a technician here, and he upgrading me to 1.5m. and the results now is quite good. everyone who facing a slow internet speed must complaint and complaint and fucking compliant…..that is the only way they will send a technician to your place..once they come ask the guy for upgrading, he will normally do that cos he doesn’t want to come to your place over and over again

i test the speed by myspeed pc, and the result :

visualware USA-Verginia — download: 1.21Mbps / upload:337Kbps
visualware UK-London — download: 1.07Mbps / upload: 271Kbps

Stil remember tm upgrade 512kbps~>1 n 1mbps~> 1.5mbps since long time ago at my area,more than half year b4 p2p they throtted p2p,i ever dl bt with 190++kb but now ^ ^!!
around 40kb~110kb,mostly below 60…
but hey 2day they didnt block my p2p wor(great remote peers dl rate),
my bt dl 120kb++ n another p2p software dl 40kb++

How do I change my Ip to 219.xxx.xxx.xxx? Damn that tmnet! I’m not using any p2p software but still getting a slow download speed! Imagine yourself updating Ubuntu at 5kbps? Arggghhhhhh!!!
