Update: MiniDota is no longer with us, although he can’t survive for even 2 weeks, but he is happy to have serve us for the 2 week. RIP.

Yes, we are crazy. We are trying to bypass hamachi as we are having our new WarCraft server! Wow! To get yourself wet, please follow these instructions.

1. Register an account here. A valid email address is required for activation.

2. Download the MiniDota package here. It contains 3 files, i.e.w3l.exe, w3lh.dll and minidota.reg.

3. Extract all the 3 files to your WarCraft game folder. Double click on minidota.reg to load the registry to your system. This will save MiniDota server details to your system.

4. Double click on w3l.exe now to launch WarCraft. From now on you need to launch WarCraft from this file in order to connect to MiniDota server. You can create a desktop shortcut by right-clicking on the w3l.exe, select Send To and then Desktop (create shortcut).

5. When you are in WarCraft, click on Battle.Net button (Not “Local Area Network” anymore!)

6. Sign in using your username and password you get from step 1. Now you can choose to enter the Chat Room (”ENTER CHAT” bottom right button) or straight away to the Game Room (”CUSTOM GAME” upper right icon).

As you know, virgin sucks because they have no experience. I am a virgin on setting up this server which I feel is 1,000,000 times more difficult than my Uni final year project! So please keep on giving me feedback on this. It won’t be as easy as Hamachi but once you get it. You Get It!

There are always rumours that said crocodile hunter dies because he is eaten by a crocodile. But today he really died. He is not eaten by a crocodile but sting by a sting-ray in the heart.

Steve Irwin was in the water at Batt Reef shooting a segment for a series called “Ocean’s Deadliest” when he swam too close to one of the animals.

Steve Irwin, the ebullient Australian whose catch cry of “Crikey!” helped him rise to global fame as television’s the “Crocodile Hunter,” was killed Monday by a stingray while filming on the Great Barrier Reef. He was 44.

Irwin was in the water at Batt Reef, off the remote coast of northeastern Queensland state, shooting a segment for a series called “Ocean’s Deadliest” when he swam too close to one of the animals, which have a poisonous barb on their tails, said John Stainton, a friend and colleague.

“He came on top of the stingray and the stingray’s barb went up and into his chest and put a hole into his heart,” said Stainton, who was on board Irwin’s boat, Croc One, at the time.

Crew members called emergency services in the nearest city, Cairns, and administered CPR as they rushed to nearby Low Isle to meet a rescue helicopter.

Medical staff pronounced Irwin dead when they arrived a short time later, Stainton said.

Irwin was famous for his enthusiasm for wildlife and for regularly getting up close and personal with dangerous animals in his television program “Crocodile Hunter,” which was first broadcast in Australia in 1992 before it was picked up by the Discovery network, catapulting him to international celebrity.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Tajol Rosli Ghazali said he hoped to see this in place by the time Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi visited the state.

The Prime Minister has been invited to launch the RM24mil Perak Multimedia Super Corridor in Meru here along with the Wireless Perak initiative in November.

Tajol Rosli said the wireless service was part of the state’s efforts to increase information and communications technology knowledge among residents and spearhead economic growth.

“Once we have set up the Perak MSC near the Perak Hi-Tech Park, we can attract local and foreign investors,” he told reporters on Saturday after the Pasir Salak Umno division delegates meeting, some 55km from here.

“We also hope that the Multimedia Development Corporation can advise us so that the Perak MSC does not compete with the MSC in Cyberjaya and other states.”

On Friday, Abdullah had suggested that cybercities and MSCs develop their own specialisations rather than compete against each other.

Tajol Rosli added that the state had attracted more than 10 investors to set up operations at the 1,200ha Perak Hi-Tech Park in Klebang here.

One company, he said, was investing RM5bil to produce new-generation thin film transistor-liquid crystal display monitor screens.

On the state’s proposal to draw underground water, the mentri besar said they were studying whether it could be drawn, treated and distributed competitively to consumers in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

July 13, 2006 21:01 PM (News Source)KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 (Bernama) — Perak will see 60 percent of its populated areas go wireless come September, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Tajol Rosli.

He said as Ipoh’s very own Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) is put in place and businesses come in, regional hubbing of telecommunication services are to begin out of Ipoh.

“We hope when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi launches the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) in Ipoh this September, he would also be launching wireless Perak,” he told reporters after the signing of an agreement here Thursday between Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Perak and telecommunications company, The Red Snapper.

“Hopefully by then, about 60 percent of the most populated areas in Perak will be wireless,” he said.

When fully deployed, a wireless Perak would allow people to sit in parks and enjoy free internet, he said.

He said about RM24 million was spent to launch and ensure the success of the wireless internet access, collected from the state’s 24 constituencies.

Tajol said the state had a RM20 million budget for the information communication technology (ICT) sector for the year.

The Wireless Perak project is to be managed by Asia Gateway Communications (M) Sdn Bhd, a 40 percent-owned company by Perak’s State Economic Development Corporation (SEDC).

Asia Gateway is the owner of The Red Snapper, which will provide the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) based voice over internet protocol (VoIP) services over WiFi-Cellular handsets, and allow the smooth handover between WiFi and cellular.

“This is Perak MSC’s flagship venture,” said Tajol.

“Technology enables us to export dial-tone and turn the Perak MSC into a regional telecommunications hub. Hence, the direct investment (in Asia Gateway),” he said.

Launching a regional telecoms platform that allows a user anywhere in the world to make and accept VoIP calls from his WiFi-Cellular handset, the company demonstrates that there is no digital divide between Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur or any other city, Asia Gateway chief executive officer, Braham Singh said.

“Wireless Perak is required to bring subsidised internet access to students and weaker sections of Perak’s social fabric and still turn a profit,” he said.

Asia Gateway chief financial officer, Asad Sultan said The Red Snapper expected to see a revenue of between US$8 million and US$10 million initially and US$100 million in five to 10 years’ time.

AhYap: Today is 05 August 2006. The last time I heard was that wireless Ipoh will be launched in June. Now it is changed to September. Let’s see if anything will happen in September.

There are a few types sohai in DotA that are very annoying. They don’t understand DotA is a multiplayer game.

1. He joinned a 10 players public game and after he was pawned 2 times, he left the game. NOOB SOHAI.

2. After the game started, he type in -random to pick a random hero. I thought he is a pro. End up that he didn’t like the hero and he immediately left the game. ACT-LIKE-A-PRO SOHAI.

3. A teammate dropped off from the game leaving his teammates some items, he took all the items himself without sharing with his teammates. Worst, he sold all of them for 50% gold instead of giving to teammates who need them. SELFISH SOHAI.

4. For the whole game, he solo from the start to the end. He farms creeps or kills hero all by himself. Or course, he dies alone too. Why don’t he just play with the computer AI if he like to solo so much? SOLO SOHAI.

5. He scold people NOOB while he himself is the real NOOB. While everyone is already level 15, he is still level 9. He killed 0 but get killed 18. SUPER NOOB SOHAI.

6. Almost all DotA games is at least 1 hour long. But after 30min in the game, he told all the players he had to leave because his cyber cafe package was going to time-out! %^*$#^% HEAD-NEED-TO-BE-CHOPPED-OFF SOHAI.

7. “Sorry Guys I have to leave because my dad ask me to go supper”, “I have to leave because my mum is very mad now”, “I have to leave to take dinner” … LAME EXCUSE SOHAI.

8. He ‘tunjuk perasaan’ after his teammates say something he don’t like. He want to revenge his teammates. So he intentionly and repeatly get himself killed by the enemies and say, “I don’t care, I’ll feed them!”. ACT-LIKE-A-KID SOHAI.

9. He saw 4 enemy heroes partying and he thought he can kill 4 of them. So he run to them and before he manage to hit once, he was already a dead duck. BRAINLESS SOHAI.

10. When all of us are busy farming peacefully without any battles, suddenly he get killed. This doesn’t make any sense. Who killed him? After we read the sub title, he was killed by neutral creeps!!! DAI SOHAI!

Zidane says insults to mother, sister caused head butt (Associated Press)

PARIS — French soccer star Zinedine Zidane apologized for head-butting an Italian opponent during the World Cup final, saying Wednesday that he was provoked by insults about his mother and sister.

“I apologize, to all the children” who watched the match Sunday, Zidane said in his first, highly awaited comments about the act of violence that marked the end of his career.

Zidane did not specify exactly what Italian defender Marco Materazzi said that enraged him, but that it was insulting to his sister and mother.

“I would rather have taken a punch in the jaw than have heard that,” Zidane said, stressing that Materazzi’s language was “very harsh.”

Zidane and Materazzi exchanged words after Italy broke up a French attack in extra-time. Seconds later, Zidane lowered his head and rammed Materazzi in the chest, knocking him to the ground.

Zidane was sent off, reducing France to 10 men. Italy went on to win in a penalty shootout.

The France captain said he felt no regret for his act, “because that would mean [Materazzi] was right to say all that.”

At nearly the same moment Zidane was appearing on French TV, excerpts from an interview that Materazzi gave to Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport were posted on the newspaper’s Web site.

“I didn’t say anything to him about racism, religion or politics,” Materazzi told the Gazzetta. “I didn’t talk about his mother either. I lost my mother when I was 15 and even now I still get emotional talking about her. Naturally, I didn’t know his [mother] was in the hospital, I give her my best wishes.”

“He’s always been my hero, I admire him a lot.”

For days, sports fans around the world have been riveted by the question: What could Materazzi have said to set Zidane off? Media from Brazil to Britain hired lip readers to try to figure it out, then came up with different answers.

Materazzi has acknowledged he insulted Zidane, without giving specifics.

Materazzi spoke to Zidane in Italian. Zidane, who played several years for Juventus in Turin, speaks Italian.

Despite the head butt, Zidane was awarded the Golden Ball award for best player at the World Cup — though FIFA president Sepp Blatter has suggested Zidane could be stripped of the honor.

“The winner of the award is not decided by FIFA, but by an international commission of journalists,” Blatter said in Italian newspaper La Repubblica. “That said, FIFA’s executive committee has the right, and the duty, to intervene when faced with behavior contrary to the ethics of the sport.”

In France, many have already pardoned Zidane, even without his explanation. A poll published Tuesday in Le Parisien newspaper showed that 61 percent of the 802 people questioned forgave Zidane.
